Mercy said yes when justice said no
Mercy found a way to meet the demands
Justice said guilty and mercy said I’ll pay
The law was condemning but grace is redeeming
And because of God’s mercy

Who can be more
righteous than God
Who can be holier
than the holiest in the heights
Who is more guiltless
Than Jesus the sinless
Who can pass judgement
Like the God of the universe
There is a place in God
where the two unite
mercy and justice.
Go hand in hand
Full penalty
for sin is paid
and mercy is given
an opening

There is a place where

There is a place where
righteousness is received
There is a place where

If anyone is in Christ
A new creation

He’s the righteousness of God
If anyone is in Christ
Eternally forgiven
And all God’s promises are granted as blessings.
