That final blow
That ends all stories
Brings the tears rolling
And causes untold wailing
Gut wrenching sorrow
Hopeless tomorrow
Death it’s name

No human power can defeat
No money or fame can resist it
All men big and small do bow to its terror
Death it’s name

But Jesus the Saviour
Rode into death’s jaw
Swallowed by its chilling claw
Sunk to its deep dark belly
And from inside ripped her open

Death is defeated
‘Cos Jesus arose
By the mighty power of God
Death defeated
Jesus Arose

And I was in Christ
When Christ Jesus Arose
Death is defeated
We too we rose
Death cannot stop us
For we, we have risen
With the Lord Christ in victory
So glad He Rose

Death’s agents and minions
Of sickness and pain
Have no hold on us
For in Christ I died and live again
No fear of death, no fear of sin
In Christ Jesus we died
